Thought for the Day: While today is a day to celebrate Women's many achievements, they could not have been accomplished without first finding the desire and taking action. Never giving up~ One step at a time to reach Success! Now, it's Your turn! You Deserve It!
Today is Ada Lovelace day. She wrote the world’s first computer program for the Analytical Engine, a general-purpose machine that Charles Babbage had invented. In recognition, today is international day of blogging to raise awareness of the achievements of women in technology and science.
My favorites to follow. The Blackwell Sisters (Elizabeth and Emily)~Elizabeth being the first female doctor. Opened the first Women's Medical Colleges, both in the US and UK.
Emily being the 2nd woman to earn a medical degree in the US. Created
with her sister Infirmary for Indigent Women and Children which she had funded to become a hospital. During the Civil war she selected and trained women to be nurses through "Women's Central Association of Relief" and helped developed the "United States Sanitary Commission". Later she became Dean of the Womens Medical College she helped create with her sister Elizabeth.
She is the reason for sterilization of instruments and doctors washing their hands.
Women have had many accomplishments unrealized by the general public. All of them had to take a chance. They all had to have a desire to accomplish their goal. They took action. That is all you need to do. You deserve it!For more information about:
